The new A30 from Exeter has rendered old maps misleading.
Some junctions on the A30 are 'restricted access' - don't assume you can get either on or off!

From Exeter, take the A30 towards Honiton. Ignore the first exit to Ottery St Mary. Exit the A30 about 4.5 miles further east at Pattesons Cross shortly after crossing the river Tale at Fairmile. This is also the Gosford Road junction to Ottery St Mary. Refer to the map immediately below. Follow the red dots!

As you exit the A30, turn right to cross over the A30 then immediately left to continue eastwards but on the old A30 (now an unclassified road) past Fenny Bridges. Keep on this road until you almost cross the new A30 again, but instead bear right. Then turn left to Gittisham. The hall is in the village centre on your right.

From Exeter, if you miss the Pattesons Cross junction come almost into Honiton as shown on the map below. Follow the red dots but (IMPORTANT) turn left just before LIDL, signed to HEATHPARK industrial estate. To return to Exeter, get back to LIDL and turn left onto the A30 westbound.

From Honiton, simply travel along EXETER RD A35 (this road leads directly from Honiton town centre) until you get to LIDL. IMPORTANT: turn left just before LIDL and follow the red dots. The route is then well signposted.
