Contribution by Stephen Wozniak

(Staff at Sidmouth Library were amused. The local Press were too wary of DCC to print it!)

There was a young man called Steve
Who in Devon libraries wanted only to please
But strive or try as he would
The bosses thought him up to no good

No one listens, he cried
As in desperation he tried
To make them all hearken, and hear
His causes, so noble and dear

Then in haste and with glee they did ban
Crying; enough enough of this man!
So into his hands they willingly played
And sprung the trap long ago, and carefully, laid

Thus one day to court they did go
Librarians a many, meekly in tow
All week to argue the toss
About privacy, leaflets and loss

The judge did exclaim
Both sides are to blame!
His letters were long, and were painful to read
Yet no crime do I see, just a man who would plead

The Council, they argued at length
We must prevail, because of our strength
Every last grievance they did air
It was rumoured out of despair

And when poor Steve was finally jailed
'twas merely for having so often e-mailed!
It proved not at all who was right
But sadly the triumph of might.
